First things first. Running was never one of my interests. Let’s be real, working out was never one of my interests either. And yet here I find myself signed up and in the second week of training for what will be a first – the Air Force Marathon in Dayton, Ohio.
“So how long have you been running?” people ask. Eight months to be exact. First, it was a way to relax. A way to undo the stress. Now, it’s become an obsession.
First, it was the Charleston Half, now it’s the Air Force Full.
I have no idea what I’m doing. I know when to run. How long to run. But everything else – no sé nada.
I have a mentor of sorts. More of a life mentor in general, but also a running mentor. A running YODA as I like to call her. And so it’s onward with this ridiculous obsession of mine. Something new to cross off the bucket list. And yet another way to see the world.
Because I truly believe, there’s no better way to live than to see, do and explore.
